High Performance Industrial Rugged 2.5-inch IDE Flash Disk announced by Pretec
"Computex Taipei , Sept. 22, 2003 - Pretec Electronics Corp., the innovative and quality flash disk manufacturer since 1993, announces the availability of Rugged 2.5-inch IDE Flash Disk in Computex 2003. (Booth # G225, 226, 293, 294 in Hall 3, A21),
The ultra slim 2.5-inch IDE Flash Disk Drive is a solid-sate disk with full metal protection and precision mechanics. Pretec IDE Flash Disk can sustain a wide operating temperature range (-40℃ ~ +85℃) which assures the ultimate level of data protection and security features to prevent users' files, software, and data from being damaged. The device can easily replace the existing conventional hard disk drive without the need of additional driver installation. With the rugged enclosure protection and excellent mechanical design, it can be a perfect match to be used in harsh environment such as military aircraft, medical instrumentation, and measurement equipments, etc.
The ultra slim IDE Flash Disk consumes low power while operating (3.3V/5V), which free the burden from your application devices and provide a user-friendly working area. Capacities range from 256MB to 5GB, with the thickness of 5.8mm in 2.5-inch housing, Pretec 2.5" IDE Flash Drive is the thinnest in the world. Customized capacities up to 10GB with the thickness of 12.7mm are also available now, with capacity up to 16GB planned in the near future.
The device can reach a very high interface transfer speed up to 66.6MB/sec (Ultra DMA mode 4); Burst Read/Write Rate of 20MB/sec; and sustained Read speed of 14MB/sec and Write speed of 9MB/sec. The High Performance 2.5-inch IDE Flash Disk sample is available NOW.
